Our Role in the Environment
Asia Pacific Shipping is committed to developing a modern and efficient fleet while continuously improving the environmental performance of our vessel operations.
We support a more sustainable shipping future through fleet renewal, operational efficiency and investment in modern vessel technologies, including methanol dual-fuel vessels.

Reducing Emissions Through Fleet Renewal
ASP is investing in a modern and more efficient fleet as part of our long-term fleet renewal strategy.

Our approach focuses on improving vessel efficiency, adopting technologies that support lower-emission operations and preparing our fleet for increasingly stringent international environmental requirements.
The delivery of ASP RAINBOW and ASP SUNSHINE, Vietnam's first commercial vessels equipped with methanol dual-fuel technology, represents an important milestone in ASP's fleet modernisation and greening strategy. These vessels can operate using both conventional fuel and methanol, providing greater flexibility as the maritime industry moves towards cleaner fuel solutions.
Our subsequent deliveries of ASP MAPLE and ASP CEDAR, two 50,000 DWT MR2 oil/chemical tankers, further strengthen this fleet renewal programme. The vessels comply with IMO NOx Tier III requirements and are equipped with exhaust gas cleaning systems.
Our Priorities:
- Modern Fleet: Investing in newer vessels with improved efficiency and environmental performance.
- Alternative Fuels: Supporting the transition towards lower-emission fuels through methanol dual-fuel technology.
- Regulatory Readiness: Developing vessels and operations in line with evolving international environmental requirements.
- Operational Efficiency: Improving vessel performance and operational practices to use resources more efficiently.

Investments in Technological Innovations
Investing in a Future-Ready Fleet
ASP's technology approach is closely connected to our fleet renewal programme. Rather than adopting technology for its own sake, we focus on solutions that improve vessel efficiency, environmental performance, operational reliability and regulatory readiness.
Methanol Dual-Fuel Technology
ASP RAINBOW and ASP SUNSHINE are the first commercial vessels in Vietnam to feature methanol dual-fuel technology. Their ability to operate on both conventional fuel and methanol supports greater flexibility as alternative fuels become increasingly important in global shipping.
NOx Tier III Compliance
ASP MAPLE and ASP CEDAR are designed to meet IMO NOx Tier III requirements, supporting compliance with stringent international emissions standards.
Exhaust Gas Cleaning
The new MR2 tankers are equipped with exhaust gas cleaning systems as part of their environmental and emissions-control design.
Modern Vessel Design
Our newbuilding programme is focused on developing a modern, efficient and future-ready tanker fleet capable of serving international markets while responding to evolving environmental expectations.
Long-Term Fleet Renewal
ASP continues to invest in newbuilding projects as part of a broader strategy to modernise and improve the efficiency of our fleet.
In 2024, ASP announced a major newbuilding programme that included methanol dual-fuel tankers

Towards a More Sustainable Fleet
ASP is taking practical steps to support the transition towards more sustainable maritime transportation. From methanol dual-fuel vessels to new-generation tankers designed to meet stringent international environmental standards, our fleet renewal programme reflects our long-term commitment to building a more efficient and future-ready shipping business
Ecological Impact
ASP is committed to minimising the environmental impact of our vessel operations through safe operations, responsible fleet management and continuous improvement. Our focus includes ballast water management, pollution prevention, responsible ship recycling and efficient vessel operations, supporting the protection of the marine environment and a more sustainable shipping future.
Protecting the Marine Environment
Responsible vessel operations are essential to protecting the marine environment. ASP's environmental approach is therefore closely connected to safe operations, regulatory compliance, vessel maintenance and disciplined management.
Ballast Water Management
ASP's vessel operations follow applicable international and regulatory requirements for ballast water management. Proper management of ballast water helps minimise the risk of introducing harmful aquatic organisms and supports the protection of marine ecosystems.
Oil Spill Prevention
Preventing pollution is an essential part of safe ship operations. ASP places emphasis on operational discipline, vessel maintenance, safety procedures and regulatory compliance to minimise the risk of oil spills and other marine pollution incidents.
